A savage response that Prince Harry gave a reporter when asked about the state of his relationship with older brother William is once again doing the rounds on social media.

The comment re-emerged this week amid fans' hope that the pair will be able bury the hatchet that has left them estranged for several years, just in time for Christmas.

Sadly, however, it doesn't sound as though that's going to happen anytime soon...

With Harry planning to remain in the States for the foreseeable - where he's said to have several A-list projects in the works - and William preparing for a possibly premature ascension to the British throne, we're not holding our breathe that the pair will reunite in time for the festive period.

This is somewhat of a heartbreaking reality for fans of the royal family - especially given how close the duo were whilst growing up.

So, where exactly did it all go wrong, again? Apparently, when Harry met Meghan.

Not that it's Meghan's fault in any way - but only after Harry began dating the former Suits actress did alleged strains in the brothers' relationship begin hitting the headlines.

And when the pair wed in 2018, press reportedly caught wind that William had previously voiced his concerns about the speed at which their romance had seemingly progressed.

According to Harry, these tensions were further exacerbated in the years that followed, with his 2023 bombshell memoir accusing his big brother of having grabbed and knocked him into a dog bowl on one occasion during a conversation about Meghan.

The Sussexes also claimed that William's wife Kate Middleton had reduced the Duchess to tears in a wedding bust-up, and that another high-profile member of the royal family had expressed their concerns about their son Archie's skin-tone.

As part of the book's promotional tour, Harry previously gave several interviews to press - in several of which he was asked where his relationship with William now stands.

One journalist he spoke to was ITV's Tom Bradby.

After clarifying that he 'loves' his father, King Charles - despite having stepped down from his own royal duties in 2020 - Harry told the reporter that he'd love 'to have my brother back'.

Harry was then asked about how William would react to the allegations he'd made against him in his literary work, suggesting: "Wouldn’t your brother say to you, 'Harry, how could you do this to me after everything we went through?' Wouldn’t that be what he would say?"

The Duke then coldly replied in a nine-word remark which is once again trending online: "He would probably say all sorts of different things".

Harry and William's last reunion - to the knowledge of the press and the public - occurred back in August, when the former returned to the UK for a family funeral.

Following the passing of the pair's 82-year-old uncle - Lord Robert Fellowes, who was previously wed to their late mother's sister, Lady Jane - they reportedly came face to face at a church in Norfolk for the first time since their father's May 2023 Coronation.

Page Six claimed at the time that an insider at the funeral informed them that Harry's attendance 'was in a personal capacity', adding that the father-of-two 'flew in and out'.

Sadly, however, attendees to the funeral have since told press that William and Harry apparently 'kept their distance'.
