Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s surprise Christmas card has sent royal fans into a frenzy, with many pointing out the same detail in one of the pictures.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared the card, which features an array of photos taken throughout the year, and fans were clearly very happy to see their children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, make an appearance.

One of the six photos saw Meghan smiling at Archie while Harry squatted down to greet Lilibet.

"On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation," the public card's message began on a dark green background. "We wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year."

The card gave royal fans a glimpse at the children, who were last seen by the public during a brief appearance in the couple's Harry & Meghan docuseries which landed on Netflix back in 2022.

So, two years later, they were all pretty stunned by just how 'tall' Archie and Lilibet got since last seeing them, with many rushing to social media to share their surprise.

One Twitter user penned: "Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie have grown tall, I understand why the Duke and Duchess don’t show their faces on account of the lunatics out here. Lili is so tall now and both have beautiful red hair. Happy Holidays to the Sussex family."

"OMG look how big Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are!" gushed a second.

A third chirped: "Prince Archie is still a red head and Princess Lilibet is a ginger. Both are tall for their age. Meghan Harry’s joy in their children is heart warming. Love the photo."

And a final user added: "A household full of gingers! Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet look so tall!"

Why don't Harry and Meghan show their kids?

According to a close friend of the Sussexes, the reason why Harry and Meghan previously didn't include their children in Christmas cards before was to 'protect their privacy'.

They told People: "Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats.

"He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm."

Referring to Princess Diana's tragic passing, the friend added: "As a dad and husband, Harry is determined to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself."
