Prince William 'to make controversial decision' about Prince Harry despite his wishes for family reunion

A Kensington Palace 'insider' provided an alleged update on the brothers' fall-out

Amid their alleged estrangement, a decision is said to be looming for Prince William regarding the status of his relationship with brother Harry.

The duo have reportedly failed to see eye-to-eye since Harry announced in 2020 that he and wife Meghan Markle would be resigning from their official duties, after which the couple fled from the UK to California.

In the years that followed, the Sussexes took part in several interviews, recorded a Netflix documentary, and even released a memoir detail the alleged maltreatment they - specifically former Suits actress Meghan - had faced from Harry's family.

The pair documented instances of bullying on the part of 42-year-old William and his wife Kate Middleton, made unnerving accusations about stepmother Queen Camilla selling stories to the news, and claimed a leading member of the monarchy raised concern about Prince Archie's skin colour.

Earlier this month, however, Harry told the BBC he still hopes to repair his relationship with his father and his brother, claiming he didn't want to see his family fighting anymore.

"I would love reconciliation with my family," the father of three claimed, after news broke that he and Meghan's request for taxpayer-funded security and protection had been declined.

Despite confessing to 'so many disagreements', Harry continued: "There's no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious."

He also referred King Charles III's ongoing battle with cancer, adding: "I don’t know how much longer my father has. You know, he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.

"But it would be nice to - it would be nice to reconcile."

Apparently, however, King Charles' ongoing cancer battle is said to be piling further pressure onto William to make amends with Harry, with a royal expert predicting a big decision needs to be made in the coming weeks.

Discussing the possibility of the Prince of Wales' ascent to the British throne in the event of his father's death, one royal expert said there are likely already conversations being had about Harry's attendance at a future coronation.

Page Six reported this week that an inside source from Buckingham Palace revealed of their brother's relationship following Harry's latest plea: "I think it’s done…I don’t think there’s [any] coming back from that.

"Before the interview, we thought, 'Come on William, extend a hand to your brother.' But now it seems that Harry hasn’t learned s**t."

Also chiming in on the debate is royal expert Hugo Vickers, who told the same outlet that 40-year-old Harry 'theoretically' should receive an invite to his big brother's potential coronation.

"But quite frankly [William] can do what he likes," the commentator continued. "It is not set in stone.

"The Duke of Windsor was not invited to [his niece Queen Elizabeth’s] coronation in 1953. There was a lot of discussion about it."

The unnamed Palace insider also claimed that the future King likely 'won't' step Harry and Meghan of their official HRH titles - despite the pair having stepped down from their positions as working royals.

"Because they are irrelevant and meaningless at this point," the source went on. "No one thinks [Harry and Meghan] are royal anyway!"

In agreement, Vickers went on to explain: "We know that William is unforgiving anyway.

"But…he won’t strip Harry and Meghan of their titles, it appears vindictive."
