Prince William’s recent trip to Switzerland to watch the Lionesses go head to head with the Netherlands has left fans saying the same thing.

The Prince of Wales, 43, was in Zurich on Wednesday evening (9 July) to cheer on England’s women’s football team as they secured a 4-0 victory against the Netherlands at Euro 2025.

After the match came to an end, William celebrated on social media, writing: “A big win in the group stage! Off the mark and onto the next one. Let’s go @lionesses!”

William, who serves as a patron of the Football Association, was beaming with pride as he watched the team bounce from their 2-1 defeat against France in their opening tournament.

The dad-of-three has been a keen supporter of the women’s team over the years, and last month he visited the squad at their training centre to present their jerseys for this year’s tournament.

His attendance at the game on Wednesday did not go unnoticed - he’s a prince after all - and football fans are now asking for him to attend every game.

“Can Prince William be at every England game? He’s a good luck charm,” one fan wrote on social media.

“Prince William has to go to every England match now, they won for him, well, they’re my thoughts anyway,” shared another supporter.

“From this I now believe Prince William is a good luck charm so needs to be at any future games,” a third viewer posted on Twitter.

While a fourth spectator shared: “Prince William's Zurich visit was a lucky charm for the Lionesses!.”

Back in 2022, England were crowned the winners of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 championship after a dramatic game against Germany.

Prince William was delighted and while shaking hands with all of the players, he went in for a heartfelt hug when he reached team captain Leah Williamson.

The Duke also made a point to go in for a big hug when he reached veteran player Jill Scott, who retired in 2022 after being a Lioness for 16 years.

Fans were impressed with the prince's emotional reaction to the Lionesses' win, and took to social media to commend him.

"What a bloke Prince William is, a kind word for everyone of those girls who did the country proud, some were even getting hugs, fantastic bloke", one impressed football fan posted at the time.
