It has now been revealed that Royal women, specifically, are ordered to wear one item of clothing all year round, and we’re definitely not envious.
Royal women have always been known for their prim and proper style choices, but you may not have noticed that one item of clothing always stays the same.
And though it isn’t written down as an official rule, it is certainly an expectation.

The strange clothing order means that royal women always have to be wearing tights - even when it’s 30 degrees outside.
We’re sweating just thinking about it.
They are typically expected to wear black or nude tights when they are out on official engagements as part of their role as an official working member of the family, if they are wearing a skirt or dress.
Princess Anne and Kate Middleton are expected to wear dresses and skirts instead of trousers, paired with their tights, in order to maintain a level of ‘decency’.

Wearing tights was a common practice by Queen Elizabeth II, so it's likely that the Royal women in the family are simply following her lead.
And it turns out that the Royals have their ‘go-to’ tights, as the Sun reported that Kate Middleton’s go-to tights are the John Lewis 7 Denier Barely There Tights for the price of £15.
Royal expert Victoria Arbiter spoke with the Insider, and said: “You never see a royal without their nude stockings.

“I would say that's really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Queen required.
It is claimed that Kate and Meghan Markle actually clashed over whether Charlotte should wear tights to Megan and Harry’s wedding.
However, Charlotte did wear white tights for Princess Eugenie's wedding.

And this isn’t the only requirement for Royal women, as the Queen also set a precedent for how they should have their nails.
The Queen famously wore Essie shade Ballet Slippers since 1989, and Kate also followed the nude nail protocol.
