If you're anything like me, I bet the only thing getting you through these unexpectedly rainy June days is your upcoming summer holiday.
You've forked out a fortune to renew your passport, planned your beach-ready outfits, had your nails painted in pastel to accentuate your tan, and now, you're quite literally counting down the days.
I'm right, aren't I? Thought so.

Well, sorry to put a dampener on what is supposed to be a truly exciting time, but passengers are this week being issued a warning ahead of their incoming trips to the airport.
The new change - which we'll get to in a sec - comes just days after Citizens Advice shared an important warning for any Brits travelling to Europe in the next few months.
In the face of the common travelling misconception is that your passport needs to be in date to be permitted on a plane, they previously emphasised that this is far from the case as many countries still require any globe-trotters to have a certain amount of time on their passport before they allow you in.

You can also check if your passport will be valid for your trip on the official GOV.UK website simply by searching for the country you’re going to and clicking on ‘entry requirements’.
If this handy holiday hack comes as news to you, however, you may want to take note of the new rules surrounding liquids before you get caught out.
If you're travelling from Newcastle, Leeds Bradford, London City, Aberdeen, Southend or Teesside airport in the coming weeks, you may have been under the assumption that the security process was about to get a whole lot easier, after it was announced that the dreaded 100ml rule had been scrapped.

In an attempt to reduce the lengthy queues that often form at security - as well as the subsequent delays to flights - which is often caused by passengers faffing around with their ziplock bag and rearranging their tiny make-up products - these six airports had Next Generation Security Checkpoints (NGSC) installed - with other airports also looking to implement these scanners in 2025.
Tragically, however, we're sorry to break it to you but this new allowance set up by the Department of Transportation has already temporarily halted.
As of 9 June, passengers are once again being advised to limit their liquids to 100ml if being carried in hand luggage, or throw them into your hold cases.

The DoT wishes to emphasise, however, that the reintroduction of this rule does not come in response to a particular threat, and that it is aimed at enabling 'further improvements to be made to the new checkpoint systems'.
Transport Secretary Mark Harper told BBC Breakfast: "It's a temporary measure and we’ll set out when that can be reversed in due course.”
So, basically, if you're flying from any airport in the UK in the coming weeks, completely ignore all new legislation surrounding liquids.
Rather pretend it never happened, and continue cramming your moisturiser and shampoo into 100ml miniatures.

Happy holidays!
