You might be surprised to hear that airplane hygiene etiquette isn’t actually at the top of every holidaymaker’s list.
While many frequent fliers religiously follow the procedure of cleaning their tray tables and sanitising their hands at regular intervals, lots apparently tend to forget the basics.
One disgruntled flight attendant has taken to TikTok to reveal plane passengers often let hygiene levels slip the moment they’re on board.
According to cabin crew member Natalie Magee, flight attendants regularly witness travellers exiting bathrooms without washing their hands.

She also claimed people tend to leave toilet cubicles in absolute chaos.
“There are so many [pet peeves], like when people don't shut the bathroom door or leave the bathroom a mess,” she complained.
“Also when you can hear it flush but not the sink so you know they didn't wash their hands.”
Interestingly, they’re not the only 'disgusting' problems the Colorado-based hostess harbours.

In another video, posted to social media, Natalie claimed she hates when people go to the toilet without putting their shoes on.
“Stop going to the bathroom barefoot the floor is sticky and it’s not sticky from cleaner,” she ranted.
“Just wear your shoes if you’re walking around the cabin.”
In another viral clip, Natalie claimed she hated when flyers munched on fast food.

“People that bring McDonald’s on the plane. I love McDonald’s, but on a plane, in an enclosed area, it smells and it’s gross.”
She also claimed she gets annoyed when passengers ‘ring the call button’ so that they can hand her rubbish and when people complain to her regarding their connection times.
“We got you here five minutes early I don’t know what you want me to do,” she said.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t book your flight for you and give you that 15-minute window to make it to your next flight. It’s not my problem.”
Natalie has also slammed flyers who vape in the bathrooms.
Branding sneaky smokers as 'douche canoes', she went on to say: "You are going to mess up a lot of people's day because you were selfish."

Following Natalie’s various posts, viewers have taken to the platform to express their dismay regarding the apparent lack of airplane hygiene etiquette in passengers.
One viewer wrote: "Can't believe people do any of these."
A second said: “Everything on the list is basically common sense and common courtesy. As a society, have we strayed so far? Just incredible.”
Another typed: "Hilarious, people are unbelievable."
A fourth commented: “Omg working with the general public.”
While a fellow user added: "People lose their minds on flights."
