A nudist who recently disembarked from a naked cruise ship has revealed the one place where clothes are an absolute must.

In recent years, cruises have stopped being associated with the older generation and are now recognised as family-friendly havens.

They can also serve as the perfect setting for ‘spicy’ jaunts across the ocean while some have even gone as far as to live on a luxury liner full-time.

Amid the ever-diversifying range of cruise ships you can embark on, there’s been an uptick in popularity regarding nude cruises.

As you’d expect, these ships are for adult nudists who enjoy spending time in the buff.

However, there is actually a strict set of rules onboard a nude cruise and one recent tourist has taken to social media to give us the scoop.

Earlier this month, an anonymous man took to Reddit to reveal he’d just spent seven nights on a 2,000-person boat.

He explained that he and his female partner had spent around $2,500 (£1,965) each so that they could freely explore the world.

The trip, organised by Texas-based charter company Bare Necessities Tour and Travel, disembarked from Tampa, Florida, and docked in countries such as Honduras and Mexico.

Writing on an ‘Ask me Anything thread’, the cruisegoer revealed that clothes would have to stay on for around 30 minutes after leaving port.

After half an hour, the captain would give the order and passengers were free to strip.

“Same, in reverse, going into port,” he explained.

Surprised users soon headed to the Reddit thread’s comments section and questioned the man on what other rules he had to adhere to.

During the Q&A session, the previous passenger explained that shoes were required whilst walking around the boat.

“Of course, one could be barefoot on beach chairs and in the pools,” he continued.

“Unless you were dressed up for dinner, everyone was in flip-flops or sandals.”

Meanwhile, the tourist admitted that whilst globetrotters were naked ‘most of the time’ there was one part of the ship where they were required to cover up.

“However, since one has to dress to go to the main dining room, there were always many clothed people at and after dinner time,” he explained.

One Reddit user also asked: “Do you carry a towel everywhere you go? It seems rather gross to have multiple naked sweaty bodies sitting or laying on everything that everyone uses.”

In response, the anonymous traveller said: “Yes. One must only sit with a towel under one’s bare butt. There are clean towels all over the ship.”

Elsewhere, another brave questioner asked if there was a rule for men getting aroused in public.

“What was the rule for b****s,” one person bravely asked, with the original poster replying: “This is something that nonnudists worry about a lot more than nudists.

“I’ve been a nudist for ten years and I’ve almost never seen one.”

He added that since the cruise wasn’t a ‘sex-positive event’, the man would be ‘expected to conceal it’.
