Everyone loves to save a bit of money when it comes to dining out.
Whether it's happy hour deal, a 2-for-1 offer or even a cheeky student discount, it's clear that shaving a few bucks off your bill can make the whole experience that bit sweeter.
However, one controversial restaurant has taken the idea of discount dining to a whole new level after issuing a 'skinny' test to see how much money off a customer should be able to get.

The food joint in question is located in Thailand and has been called out for 'fat-shaming' after giving its customers the options to fit their entire bodies through spaces of varying widths.
As detailed in an Instagram video posted by globe-trotters Amina (@amonthego) and Alex (@alexwandersyt), the Chiang Mai Breakfast World - a cafe in Chiang Mai - has a series of multicoloured 'skinny discount' bars where the rule is that the smaller the gap, the bigger the reduction.

There are five total categories with the first and biggest gap reading 'FULL PRICE SORRY'.

The second offers 5% off, while the third offers a 10% discount with the fourth giving customers the options to try and squeeze into an even narrower gap to achieve a 15% discount off their bill.
And the last and final category offers those 'skinny' enough to fit in the last gap a sizeable 20% off.

Footage posted by Amina and Alex shows one male diner attempting get his body through the super-tight 15% discount space as his friends laugh in the background.

"You need some butter," one onlooker quips from the sidelines.
After failing to make it through the slot, the diner then attempted to pass his body through the 10% gap was, again, was thwarted.
Eventually, he finally manages to cinch himself into the 5% discount slot, admitting: "It’s better than nothing, I suppose."
And, in a follow-up video, a woman can be seen passing through the 15% space twice as one of her friends jokes: "I didn’t think your boobs were gonna get through there."

The clip has since gone viral online with many rushing in to share their thoughts on the bizarre restaurant policy, with one Instagram user hitting out: "Wouldn’t eat there. That’s really discriminating."
A second slammed: "This is so wrong.
"What’s wrong with you? This can promote eating disorders. Let people enjoy their food and have a healthy weight," outlined a third, while a fourth echoed: "This is so ridiculously rude and disrespectful."

Others, however, actually found it a 'funny' idea with a fifth declaring: "We need this across all places."
And a final Instagram user joked: "In America, this place would get sued, sadly."
