You might have heard about 'spicy cruises', but did you know that the adult-only holidays have strict rules that passengers must adhere to?

While cruises in general are becoming increasingly popular among all kinds of different holidaymakers, spicy cruises are generally aimed at couples hoping to meet other couples.

The cruises are not specifically for swinging couples, but generally do attract those who are involved in the swinging lifestyle.

One company offering these types of holidays is Temptation Cruises, which offers 'playrooms', 'clothing-optional' areas and workshops run by experts.

This year, the cruise will begin in October in Miami, before visiting some dreamy destinations including Florida and the Bahamas.

There are all different kinds of 'spicy cruises' out there, with some catered more towards singles, while others are aimed at couples. Temptation Cruises has one strict rule in particular, explaining that its holidays are now aimed solely at couples.

Ahead of the October voyage, Temptation Cruises writes: "Set sail on the Temptation Caribbean Cruise this October 2026 for six days of sun, fun, and couples only connection. From Miami to Key West to Nassau, enjoy clothing-optional vibes, unforgettable theme nights, top-tier entertainment, and a whole lot of freedom at sea."

Temptation also explain that entry will be denied to those who - even if booked in a pair - do not meet this requirement. For example, it would be against the rules to show up with a friend and pretend to be a couple.

Once onboard, couples can expect two swimming pools, adult entertainment, DJs, live performances and intimate workshops.

Prices begin at $1,300 (£985) per couple, to stay in an interior state room, meanwhile an ocean-view room is pricier at $2,050 (£1,553).

As well as being a couples-only event, there are other rules that passengers should follow.

Temptation Cruises explain these are:

  1. Respect - in every interaction with other guests, consent is fundamental
  2. Experience at your own pace - top-optional areas are designed to let you experience freedom without pressure. Enjoy at your own pace and allow others to do the same
  3. Clothing - appropriate attire must be worn in dining venues and non-au-naturel areas
  4. Cameras and phones - to protect everyone’s privacy, cameras and phones are not allowed in au-naturel and top-optional areas, the playtime room, or during theme nights
  5. Alcohol - Temptation reserves the right to deny bar service to any guest who is visibly intoxicated or not consuming responsibly
  6. Noise - hallways must be quiet after midnight
  7. Drugs - the sale or use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited throughout the entire itinerary. Failure to comply with this policy may result in removal from the ship and possible legal consequences
  8. Belongings - Temptation Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line are not responsible for items left outside your safe
