British people travelling to Benidorm are being urged to bear a little-known rule in mind, as if it's ignored, it could result in a hefty fine.
When it comes to worrying about our holidays, it's usually reserved for what might go wrong at the airport.
Whether it's wrestling carry on bags into tiny overhead lockers, or battling to fit all of your holy grail products into a see-through bag that just won't close properly - the list is endless.

Not to dampen your summer holiday shine, but it turns out things can go horribly wrong once your plane has landed, too.
Brits travelling abroad to Benidorm are being warned about a little-known but very strict beach rule that carries a big price tag with it.
The new rule prohibits anyone from stepping foot on beaches between midnight and 7am.

This includes for the purposes of going for a swim, or catching some z's on the sand.
Camping on the beach is also outlawed during those hours.
People caught flouting the rule will receive a fine between £650 and £1,020.
The beaches also come with more rules.

There's a total ban on barbecues and fires, as well as taking a seat or sunbathing on the first six metres of sand next to the water.
Beyond that, anyone caught swimming while the red flag is flying could be fined up to £860.
Simply not worth it, is it?

The tourist crackdown doesn't stop there, so strap in.
Playing ball games outside of designated areas could set you back £100.
Reserving a place to sunbathe with a parasol carries a fine of £130.
Getting your body out while on a non-nudist beach will cost you a pretty penny - £560 to be exact.

But it might be the next one that shocks you the most.
Drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes on the beach are totally banned, and if caught you could be slapped with fines of around £650 and £1700, respectively.
If you use shampoo and soap in beach showers - you could end up forking out £560.
Having sex on the beach carries a fine of £660.
Not covering up when leaving the beach has the costly fine of £300.
It's hard to imagine what you actually can do on Benidorm beaches, to be honest.
