A woman was left completely heartbroken after she thought she had won a whopping £182 million before realising the devastating news that the payment for the ticket had failed.
Rachel Kennedy, then 19, and Liam McCrohan, then 21, missed out on the EuroMillions jackpot in 2021 after they forgot to buy a ticket.
For weeks, the couple had been picking the same numbers for the draw that takes place twice a week - 6, 12, 22, 29, 33, 6 and 11.

Lo and behold, those exact numbers came out on 26 February 2021, but Rachel hadn't actually bought the ticket.
Rachel had previously set up her account to automatically buy the EuroMillions ticket with them same numbers for each draw.
But the automated system was unable to purchase the ticket for the draw on 26 February 2021 as Rachel's EuroMillions account did not have enough funds.

So, she and her boyfriend missed out on the life-changing £182 million jackpot - ouch!
Rachel told our friends at LADbible in 2021: "I logged onto the app cause I saw that man who called up and didn't realise he had won money but won millions, so I thought f**k it I'll do the same.
"It said 'Winning match on the 27th Feb'.
"I called up and the woman said, 'Yeah they're the right numbers, but you didn't put any numbers on this week'.

"I forgot to play."
The University of Brighton student said that she was snowed under with university work, hence forgetting to buy a ticket.
But speaking to LADbible, Rachel admitted she tried to move past the heartbreaking moment, no matter how difficult it may be.
She said: "Everything happens for a reason though, we're no richer or poorer than we were this morning.

"Hopefully it goes to someone who is in desperate need for it.
"Although it's sad, I think we'll get over it pretty quickly - not that he [Liam] was getting any of it anyway!"
At the time, Liam also shared their EuroMillions story on Twitter, with it going viral at over 34,000 likes.

Clearly very shellshocked by the whole situation, he wrote: "When your Mrs decides to not play the EuroMillons... and all 7 of her usual numbers come up😭😭£182M."
He told The Sun: "I was absolutely heartbroken when we heard the man on the phone say we hadn't actually bought the ticket.
"I was already picturing our dream house and the dream car, I think I was getting a bit carried away to be fair.
"On the app it really made it look like we had won because it comes up in orange and it says winning match.
"When you looked at it and it was her usual numbers it just really looked like she had won and I got a bit carried away."
