You might have heard of the skincare benefits of LED light therapy and you’ve probably seen some kind of vibrating cleansing brush before. But have you ever seen one which combines both?

Well, let us introduce you to the micro-sonic silicone cleaning brush from Magnitone.

Priced at £80, it’s one of the more affordable LED devices currently on the market and because of its soft bristles, it’s also brilliant at gently exfoliating dry, flaky skin to reveal a smoother and brighter complexion underneath.

So, if you’ve been looking to invest in your skin or have wanted to dabble with LED light therapy at home as part of your skincare routine, we’ve put together everything you need to know about this impressive device.

How does it work?

Much like other micro-sonic silicone cleansing brushes, the 'Lights Out' cleaning brush works by using vibrations to help break down dirt, oils and impurities on the skin, helping to clean pores and make your cleanser work harder than it would simply by using your hands or a damp towel.

All you need to do is apply your usual or favourite cleanser either directly onto the device or your skin, switch it on and work in small circular motions around your face until you’ve cleansed your face fully.

The brand recommends “20-30 seconds on your cheeks and chin, 20-30 seconds on your T-zone (nose and forehead) and 20-30 seconds on your neck.”

But what makes this cleansing brush stand out is the fact that you can switch on LED lights as you go about washing your face. And there are three light options to choose from with this device, each of which penetrate your skin at different levels to help with a variety of skin concerns.

There’s red light, which helps to give the skin a more radiant and glowing appearance, while simultaneously improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and acne. You can also choose blue light, which is particularly beneficial for those with oily or blemish prone skin. This is because blue light is thought to help decongest below the skin’s surface, where spots spring up from.

And finally there’s yellow light. Believed to stimulate blood flow to the skin, this setting is great for those who suffer from inflammation, whether that be because of conditions such as rosacea or more reactive skin.

The technology is also gentle enough for you to use the cleansing brush morning and night, to help cleanse away everything from makeup and SPF to dirt and pollution which might have built up during the day.

What are customers saying?

One happy shopper took to the LOOKFANTASTIC website to exclaim: “I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and it’s become a staple in my skincare routine. Not sure how effective the LED lights actually are but my skin definitely seems more glowy (I’ve been using the red light mainly). If you haven’t used a cleansing device before I’d say this is a good starting option and pretty affordable too.”

While another added: “I bought this for the LED light. I’m impressed after the first use. My skin is visibly clearer and looks more glowy. Looking forward to seeing what it does over a few weeks.”

A third even called it the ‘best cleansing brush,’ they had ever tried.

The MAGNITONE XO Lights Out Tri Colour LED Micro-Sonic Silicone Cleansing Brush is available now from LOOKFANTASTIC.
