But one scroll of the reviews and we’re actually considering slathering our face in the stuff.
On Amazon, the product has received thousands of rave reviews. One customer admitted to purchasing the snail serum as a joke, before seeing some pretty incredible results.

“It feels surprisingly pleasant to use, fresh and calming, and it is quickly absorbed. My skin feels happy and clean,” she wrote. “Unsolicited, my partner remarked how my skin looks younger and more alive. What more can a girl ask?”
Another agreed, as they wrote: “I was sceptical about using this, as with any viral product but now, I am recommending this to everyone. I absolutely love it and can feel the difference if I do not use it. My skin is now soft, smooth and hydrated. I love this product.”
A third user was simply left ‘speechless’. In the reviews section, they wrote: “This amazing product leaves that ultimate glass skin effect on my skin. It does wonders, leaving your skin smooth, healthy, and hydrated - I’ve also heard it helps with decreasing your wrinkles.”
Another customer hailed the snail serum a ‘miracle in a bottle’ while one boldly claimed ‘I honestly couldn't live without it now’. OK, we’re all ears.

Snail serum is made of mucus, an external bodily secretion, produced by snails. Both land snails and slugs produce the mucus - yep, it's in that trail they leave behind everywhere they go.

To be fair, we've yet to see a dehydrated snail.
How do I use snail serum?
After cleansing and toning your skin, apply a small amount of snail serum to your face and neck. Gently pat into the skin using your fingertips to aid absorption. Then, finish with your favourite moisturiser.
Does it hurt the snails?
Thankfully, no snails are harmed in the process. According to the website, snail mucin is obtained in a ‘safe and environmentally-friendly’ way.

The snails are place over a mesh surface to freely roam, leaving mucin in their trails. Once obtained, the snails are placed back into their natural habitat.
We can imagine it's a painfully slow process - so this serum must be worth it.
