The Met Gala is the best of the best when it comes to seeing the most amazing outfits.
From sleek silk to raunchy ruffles, you can expect to see it all. But the 2024 Met Gala red carpet? Oh, that was phenomenal.
Not only was it filled with A-list celebs, but the dress code was something that everyone would like to at least attempt to emulate: 'The Garden of Time'.

It sounds like something crossed between fairy core and Alice in Wonderland - which was totally the vibe many of the guests went for.
You had Kim Kardashian making an appearance wearing an incredibly tight corset number, while Lana Del Rey dressed as some kind of webbed tree and Zendaya was giving dark woodland sorcerous vibes.
However, heads were turned when a ‘mystery guest’ debuted on the carpet with a stunning mechanical butterfly look.
But who is she?

Over on X (formerly Twitter), droves of fans were losing their s*** over a woman they’ve never heard of before.
One person reposted a video of her gown, which show that the mechanical butterflies actually moved.
They wrote: “I don't know who she is, but she ate all those who ate.

“Homegirl devoured. Those butterflies move”.
While another called the gown 'insane', and someone else said: “Apparently, a lot of folks are feasting at the #MetGala and Idc that Idk who she is, but she ate all those who ate. “
“Homegirl devoured. Those butterflies move, aaawwwwaaa”.
A fourth said: "ABSOLUTELY STUNNING."

And many proclaimed her the 'best-dressed' at the event.
It wasn’t long before people tracked down this mysterious woman and found out that it’s none other than business mogul, Mona Patel.
Wearing her Iris Van Herpen gown, the entrepreneur made her Met Gala debut and stunned everyone.

Patel is from Gujarat and has worked with Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach for some time now.
She’s also been caught rubbing shoulders with the likes of Kendall Jenner and high-profile influencers too.
Having moved to the United States in 2003, Patel swifty made a name for herself after founding HauteX Ventures and heath tech company, radXai.
But that’s not all, she was even listed as a Forbes Next 1000 honoree in 2021.
Back in March, she told Vogue India why she chose the dress for the Met Gala carpet: “I wanted my debut look to be something that celebrates my heritage and also combines my love couture, and when I heard of the theme, Iris Van Herpen seemed like the obvious choice.”
According to the New York Times, a custom dress by Iris Van Herpen can set you back anywhere from $20,000 to $100,000.
Now, that’s dedication to the craft.
Hopefully, she’s invited to the 2025 event and we can watch her steal the show once again.
