A Shein customer was left shellshocked after she claimed to have discovered the innovative materials used to construct her purchase.
Shein is an online fast-fashion retailer valued at around $66 billion.
The Gen-Z favoured business is one of the fastest-growing apparel brands on the planet and is known for being involved in various trademark disputes and class action lawsuits.

And it appears the fashion site is in hot water again.
An alleged customer, known by her TikTok handle @emperkyxxxx, has announced an apparent issue with her latest Shein purchase.
Last weekend, the user took to the platform to share a 12-second clip with her 1,317 followers.

In the video, the woman showed the outside of a faux leather purse before opening it up.
Inside, the social media star showed off the fact she had been forced to cut into the purse to reveal its cardboard lining.
She allegedly discovered that the lining of her crocodile print wallet had been made out of a bright orange COVID-19 testing kit.
Over the top of the viral video, which has since amassed over 1.3 million likes, she wrote: “POV: your card gets stuck in the purse you brought from Shein so you have to rip it and you find out it’s made out of a COVID testing kit box.”

Alongside the clip, @emperkyxxxx added: “caught me off guard @SHEIN recycling slay.”
Since posting the clip to social media, the woman’s TikTok video has been viewed a staggering 11.7 million times and has been commented on by over 2.000 users.
One viewer alleged: “Omg I just cut open a Shein wallet I had and it was made out of either a biscuit or a chocolate box I couldn’t tell the writing wasn’t in English.”

A second typed: “My phone case from Shein was made out of a My Little Pony trading card.”
Another user said: “I think that’s cool though!! Reusing and recycling is better than making more cardboard or wtv material for the wallet.”
“All purses like that have cardboard in them to keep their shape,” commented a third.
A fourth penned: “I remember when my phone case was old and falling apart and when I looked inside, I saw it was made out of a Colgate box.”

Tyla has contacted representatives of Shein for further comment.
Earlier this year, the fast fashion giant revealed it had launched an investigation after a woman found a ‘vial of blood’ in her order.
23-year-old Anna Elliot from Tennessee was ‘left in tears’ over the discovery due to having a ‘life-long major phobia’ of blood.
“At first I was trying not to panic because I thought maybe it was a joke or maybe they had fake blood vials for Halloween and somehow it ended up in my bag,” she said in a TikTok video.
"But then I realised it was from an actual lab and it was real and I really panicked."
Regarding the incident, Shein said that the ‘package completed its quality control process and [when it left their] facility it contained only the Shein items ordered'.
The brand added it had launched an 'immediate investigation' upon learning the parcel had been 'tampered' with.
