We all know the feeling. You try on a pair of cute jeans that you bought online or didn't have time to try on in the shop and - devastatingly - they don't fit.
In the past, you might have reluctantly returned them or left them hanging in your wardrobe to gather dust. But what if we told you that you really could wear them after all?
It sounds too good to be true, but after TikToker Lily Schoknecht (@Bug318_) walked her followers through her Nana's genius old-school hack, people started stretching out their jeans to fit them perfectly!
Watch her video here to see how she does it:
So, it seems a little bit far-fetched, but as Lily says: "Trust the process."
Trying out this trick might not exactly be how you planned on spending your evening, but it could land you with a whole new wardrobe just in time for summer without spending a penny. Sounds like a win-win!
People on TikTok are raving about the hack after watching Lily's video, thanking the TikToker's Nana for passing down her wisdom.
"NANA ... she knows what's up" commented one viewer.
"Omg nana for the win. I'm doing this today with a pair i have laying around!!:tada:" wrote another.
"So this is how the sisterhood of the traveling pants worked" a third joked.
Some viewers can't help but wish that they discovered this trick sooner.
One thrilled TikToker wrote: "GIRL YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY AWESOME JEANS IVE MISSED OUT ON THRIFTING BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE THIS INFORMATION :sob:."
Another joked: "So the algorithm saw me struggling to put my jeans on this morning?"
While a third commented: "Brb doing this with all my Jean shorts :joy::heart_eyes:."
Although the hack is a tried and tested way to get your jeans to fit better, some people are struggling with the idea of wearing wet jeans.
"The idea of peeling off soaked jeans is so unappealing tho :joy:" commented one appalled viewer.
"Would love to try this but the thought of being in wet jeans makes my skin scrawl" added a second.
But another was determined to persevere, writing: "my sensory issues are strong but my desire to fit the thrifted jeans in the back of my closet is stronger."
You've got to do what you've got to do!
