Dua Lipa will make her acting debut among the star-studded cast of Greta Gerwig's upcoming Barbie live-action movie.
Newly released poster characters for the hotly-anticipated flick, slated to debut in the summer, have given fans a closer look at the many, many key players - sharing the screen with protagonists Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken.
Gerwig, known for being behind the camera of award-winning movies like Lady Bird and Little Women, also co-wrote the Barbie script with frequent work collaborator and life partner, filmmaker Noah Baumbach.

Robbie portrays the title role as a Barbie who's banished from Barbieland and looks for happiness in the human world. Together with the Aussie star's Barbie and Gosling's Ken, the film will introduce several other versions of the famous doll and different male co-protagonists.
It seems that Dua Lipa will play on the Barbie team as a mermaid doll. The poster sees the pop star rocking blue hair and a shimmery bra and fishtail combo, while the character tagline leaves little doubt as to Dua's role.
The artist has also reportedly recorded several tracks for the movie. While we can't hope for a sultry 'Barbie Girl' rendition as the director previously announced the song by Aqua wouldn't be used, we're sure Dua has a few tricks up her sleeve - or tail, if you will.

With an extended trailer set to drop soon following December's teaser, the Barbie movie has quickly become one of the hottest tickets of the year for film buffs - and it's not hard to see why.
Alongside Robbie, Gosling and Lipa, the cast also includes: Will Ferrell, Kate McKinnon, America Ferrera, Insecure's Issa Rae, Marvel's Simu Liu, Scott Pilgrim's Michael Cera, The Umbrella Academy's Ritu Arya, Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan and You's Hari Nef, to name but a few.
The film will gift fans a little Sex Education reunion, too. Netflix stars Emma Mackey, Ncuti Gatwa and Connor Swindells are set to reunite as physicist Barbie, one of the Kens and an intern to Ferrell's CEO character, respectively.
As for Dua Lipa, she won't stop at Barbie when it comes to her acting career.

She will next be seen in starry spy movie Argylle from Kingsman director, Matthew Vaughn. The Henry Cavill-starrer is currently in post-production and will see the singer donning blonde hair for the role. She also provided original music for the track title and the film's score.
Cast is rounded out by Bryan Cranston, Catherine O'Hara, Ariana DeBose, Bryce Dallas Howard and Sam Rockwell, among others.
Barbie is expected to hit cinemas on July 21.
