Greg James Shares Hilarious Message That Was Rejected By Love Island

Fans of the radio host were gutted that the original message didn't make the cut.

The 2022 season of Love Island drew to an emotional close last night (1 August), and as the show prepared to crown its winners, a montage of supportive celebrity messages played.

However, it turns out that Greg James' hilarious original message to the contestants didn't make the cut. Watch below:

If you've watched the 2022 season, then you'll know that one of its most iconic moments was when Andrew admitted that he 'licked [Coco's] t*t... or whatever' to a baffled Tasha in the wake of Casa Amor.

While the pair went on to recover from this bump in their road to relationship happiness, eventually placing fourth, for many, it remains one of the most iconic moments of the series - including James.

He hilariously said in his original, rejected video: "I'm so excited for the Love Island final that I could lick my own t*t... or whatever.

"Good luck to the finalists, particularly Davide and Ekin-Su and if you don't want them to win, you're a liar."

The original clip was recorded in the BBC Radio 1 studio and later shared to Twitter by the 36-year-old, who wrote: "Love Island asked me if I wanted to do a video for the final and my first attempt was rejected."

Fans of the radio presenter were tickled pink by the rejected video.

One wrote: "This should have been broadcast!"

"That is sensational," added a second viewer while a third wrote: "You are hilarious. Why would they reject it ffs."

"Obsessed with the transparency on Twitter. You are limitless here Greg," wrote a fourth.

James went on to share his second take, saying that he 'softened' the original message to say: "Go on Davide. Go on Ekin-Su. If you don't want them to win, you're a liar, you're an actress!"

The radio presenter got his wish, and the Italian stallion and Turkish delight, as they've now been dubbed by themselves and many viewers, were crowned the winners of the show.

Gemma and Luca, meanwhile, came in second place and Indiyah and Dami were third.

Davide and Ekin-Su were crowned the winners on the live finale.

Last night's finale marked the first time in Love Island history that the £50K prize fund was not up for a steal, and fans of the show were extremely disappointed.

"Wait they don't do the split or steal the money anymore??? I waited 8 weeks for nothing [sic]," lamented one fan.

"What the heck?! Where is the money steal part?! What is going on this season?!" questioned a second.

A third, meanwhile, speculated: "They didn't do the split and steal with the money because one of them would steal it."

However, it is worth noting that when stealing the prize fund was an option, no one ever did it.

Do you think Davide and Ekin-Su could have been the exception?
