Killing Eve fans, get excited: the first look at the final series has just been released.

Watch the trailer here.

In the trailer, we see Eve being asked to "continue [her] investigation" after Carolyn Martens reveals that someone has been killing members of The Twelve.

Although she had previously planned on walking away, fans will be thrilled to see Eve pull out her old notes and get right back to it, eventually coming face to face with Villanelle once again.

Elsewhere in the trailer, Villanelle tries to convince Eve that she's "changed," but Eve later tells her the fable of the Scorpion and the Frog (who both die "because a scorpion can't change its nature", by the way. Not exactly a positive sign of things to come.)

Konstantin later warns Eve that whatever she's up to, she "won't come out of it", to which she simply replies: "Thank God."

Between other rather dramatic shots of stabs, slaps, kisses, hugs, and rock, paper, scissors contests, fans read the words: "On February 27, The Final Season, The Final Obsession."

Goosebumps.

In the final moments of Killing Eve season three, Villanelle and Eve found themselves on the Tower Bridge and we watched in suspense, half expecting one to push the other over the side.

In the end, the pair turned their backs to one another and slowly walked away, but not before one final glance back at each other. We were left to wonder whether this really was the end for the two women.

Looking to season four, a plot synopsis from BBC America reads: "Eve is on a revenge mission, while Villanelle has found a brand-new community in an attempt to prove she’s not a ‘monster.'

"This season follows our extraordinary women, each driven by passion, revenge and obsession, building towards a messy, nuanced and totally glorious series finale.”

And we can't wait to see what's round the corner...

Season four of Killing Eve will air on BBC One and BBC America on February 27.
