Laura Whitmore Says The Love Island Villa 'Smells So Bad'

The Irish TV presenter, 37, spilled the beans – and it’s not what you’d expect from the sprawling Majorcan pad.

If you’ve ever wondered what the Love Island villa smells like you’re in luck, as host Laura Whitmore has spilled the beans – and it’s not what you’d expect from the sprawling Majorcan pad.

In fact, the TV presenter, 37, admitted the place smells of 'BO' and 'Lynx Africa' when asked if the Hidden Hills villa was 'grotty'.

Speaking on Alan Carr’s podcast, Life’s a Beach, the Irish star, who has fronted the series since 2020, said: "It smells so bad.

"If you think about it that amount of people – like about 40 or 50 islanders go through it throughout the whole summer – it starts off at about 10 or 12 or whatever and then more keep going in...

"And they're like 18-year-olds – the carpet, the fake tan, the makeup, the BO – it stinks!"

Yeah, that makes sense.

Whitmore then added that there’s a lingering aroma of Lynx Africa deodorant, a favourite among teenage boys, trying to cover up the less than stellar odours.

"Lynx Africa like when they try to cover the BO – that's what it smells like," she concluded.

Whitmore’s comments come as viewers will see Gemma Owen accidentally call her current love interest, Luca Bish, her ex's name.

The unbelievable incident took place after the Islanders said goodbye to Afia, who was the first person to be ‘dumped’ from the island. Watch it below:

While embracing the latest person she’s been coupled up with, Luca, in the kitchen, Gemma accidentally called him Jacques.

As if that wasn’t already awkward enough, she had an audience of the other Islanders including Jacques himself, who was sitting nearby.

Picking up on the blunder, Amber asked: "Did you just call [Luca] something else?

Luca admits it, saying: "I know what she said."

"Jacques?" Amber asked.

It’s at this point that Dami expressed her disbelief, saying: "Oh my god, there is no way that happened, there is no way that happened!"

Gemma and Luca are seen chatting after her slip-up.

Paige, meanwhile, appeared to be more forgiving, and said: "Easy mistake to make, hun."

However, Gemma clearly didn’t feel the same way, and the moment Luca is out of earshot in the garden, she says: "That was bad, wasn’t it?"

Paige, who is coupled up with Jacques, doesn’t lie at this point, and says: "That was bad, I am not gonna lie, he was stood there, you had your guy rubbing your shoulders, he’s stood there and you’re like… 'Oh Jacques'."
