Love Island runner-up Luca Bish claims that, before entering the villa this summer, he had never seen Gemma's dad Michael Owen play football before.
When the Brighton fishmonger first set his sights on Gemma, fans theorised that he was only interested in meeting her famous father.
However, after sticking it out in the villa for the last eight weeks, Luca has finally had a chance to set the record straight - he barely knows who Michael Owen is.

After coming second in this year's Love Island final - losing out to Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti - Luca and Gemma spilled some details to ITV about their time in the villa, and their future plans.
Looking back on the penultimate episode of the 2022 series, when the Islanders got to meet each other's parents, the couple recalled that Gemma's mum Louise had said Luca looked a lot like Michael Owen back in the day.
In response, Luca has since admitted to Gemma: "I think when he was playing football, I was really young so I don’t think I’ve ever seen your dad.

"I’ve seen him now presenting and stuff but I don’t think I look anything like him there but maybe when he was younger."
Gemma replied: "You need to see a picture of him when he was younger, side by side."
And Luca added: "I’ve had nothing to go off. I’ve had people tell me about the goals he scored and all that."

Elsewhere in their exit interview, Gemma and Luca were asked if they were 'nervous' to meet each other's families properly.
Cool and calm as ever, Gemma answered: "I’m not really nervous to meet Luca’s family. I think they all seem absolutely lovely and I’m not nervous for Luca to meet mine because I think they’ll get on and he’ll fit straight in.
"His personality, his banter and what he loves, I think he’ll get on with everyone."
Luca added: "My family will love her! They’ve already said they love you. My sister, mum and nan, that’s the one I look for as my dad is easy-going.

"They’ve all given their approval. We got a call last night after the final and speaking to your [Gemma’s] family, I got a few moments with them and I am buzzing to meet them in person."
However, Gemma noted that she's still waiting for the full seal of approval from her mum before she can make things official with Luca.
"If my mum was like ‘absolutely not’ then yeah I think that would be the end of it," she laughed.

"I haven’t had a chance to speak to her properly but from the small bits I’ve heard, she’s really happy and likes him."
Luca chimed in: "I was nervous. I’ve been anxious about meeting your mum and hearing what she’s got to say."
Fans will get to hear how things are going for the couple when the series reunion airs this weekend - let's hope it's all good news.
The Love island 2022 Reunion airs at 9pm on Sunday, 7 August on ITV2.
