Love Island fans have heard all kinds of x-rated confessions from Islanders after a night in the Hideaway, but one seemingly innocent detail spilled by Gemma Owen about Luca Bish has left some social media users confused.
In Thursday's (30 June) episode, the 19-year-old international dressage rider and the 23-year-old fishmonger went to the Hideaway together.
The following morning, Gemma shared all the details with the girls as is custom in the villa. While the pair did not do anything explicitly sexual under the covers, she confessed Luca wakes up in the night to whisper compliments in her ear while she's asleep.

Yes, really.
While the girls thought Luca's version of pillow talk was adorable, viewers on social media had other ideas.
In a post on Twitter, one fan wrote: "Gemma was about to complain about Luca whispering in her ears, but the girls found it cute so she had to pretend she liked it".

Lots of women on Twitter said they would not find late night whispers endearing at all.
"When Gemma said Luca wakes up in the middle of the night whispering 'you're amazing' to her, do that to me I’ll send you to another dimension through the sheer fear of hot breath in my ear.. ICKY," one woman said.
While another sleep lover tweeted: "Just thinking about Luca whispering in Gemma’s ear in the dead of night and I can’t express how much I would swing for a man if he did that to me? Sleep is everything to me."

Another person joked: "When Gemma was saying Luca wakes up and whispers things in her ear thought the girls were going to say 'that is so cringe'."
Other viewers were left feeling divided, with one person tweeting: "So he wakes up in the middle of the night repetitively, whispers compliments to her and tells her how obsessed he is with her and goes back to sleep. Idk if that’s cute or creepy."
Another woman shared the tweet: "Think I’m the only one who thinks it’s weird Luca whispers in Gemma’s ear in the middle of the night."

It seems the jury is still out.
The couple had a fantastic time in the Hideaway overall and Gemma reflected on their relationship so far before getting dressed up for the villa's most intimate room.
“Finally! I feel like it has been a long time coming. So nice it’s just gonna be us two. I’m just buzzing," she said in the Beach Hut.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
