The series centres on a teens John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), JJ (Rudy Pankow) and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) otherwise known as the Pogues, growing up in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and the third season will pick up as the group are washed ashore on a desert island - as the new photos show.
While at first it may look an idyllic spot for the Pogues to set up after finding - and losing - the treasure haul and fleeing their hometown, things quickly take a sour turn.
After naming their island Poguelandia, the group settles into their new life, spending their days swimming, fishing and generally enjoying a much more laid-back change of pace.

However, it’s not long before they get themselves caught up in another attempt to find the treasure, which puts their lives at risk.
A synopsis teases: “They’re broke and far from home, they can’t trust anyone, Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge, and there’s a ruthless Caribbean Don who will stop at nothing to find the bounty. Was the treasure ever within their reach? Or was it all a trap to stop them once and for all? Either way, it’s the Pogues against the world – and the only way out is together.”
Sounds good, right? And fans of the hit show don’t have too long to wait as the third helping will land on the streaming platform on 23 February.

Outer Banks’ creators and executive producers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke have revealed that season three will see things ‘ramping up’ for the Pogues, as the group realise ‘that their adventures in the first two seasons were merely the prelude to the granddaddy of all treasure hunts’.
They went on: “The cast have been fast friends in real life pretty much from the very beginning, and it’s been so gratifying to see those connections deepen over the years we’ve worked on the show. They are truly Pogues for Life.”
Season three of Outer Banks lands on Netflix on 23 February, and if you need to catch up the first two seasons are available to stream right now.
