Paul O’Grady fans were moved to tears after watching ITV’s emotional tribute to the late comedian on Easter Sunday evening (9 April).
Viewers tuned in to watch For the Love of Paul O’Grady, which celebrated the life and career of O'Grady, who first made it big with as his drag persona, Lily Savage, before becoming a huge TV host and radio star.

He went onto become the host of various shows from Blankety Blank, Blind Date, The Paul O'Grady Show, The Lily Savage Show and many other.
O'Grady also presented ITV’s hit documentary series, For the Love of Dogs, for more than a decade, spanning across 11 series.
The comedian was a well-known dog lover and spent lots of time at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, helping re-home over 300 dogs over the years, and even adopting a few himself.

And in one particularly poignant moment during ITV’s tribute, there was a scene where a group of four dogs were seen sitting on a sofa and watching him on screen.
It was a beautiful tribute to O'Grady and fans took to social media to praise the 'sweet' scene, as well as what a 'lovely person' O'Grady was.
One fan had nothing but praise for the scene and gushed about how ‘warm’ and ‘caring’ Paul was, saying: “What a beautiful and fitting memorial #fortheloveofpaulogrady was - a fitting tribute for such a warm, caring and hilarious person Paul O’Grady was until the end.”

They added: “Seeing those dogs staring at the TV I found especially moving as all the amazing tributes by all those who knew him.”
A second viewer tweeted: “The idea of various dogs gathering around the telly to watch the tribute to Paul O'Grady is so sweet and sad.”

A third fan shared: “Crying watching the tribute to Paul O'Grady there. He was such a lovely person. Cared so much for people and dogs all his life.”
While another person wrote: “I love For The Love of Paul O’Grady having the dogs watching the TV.”
Similarly, a viewer shared: “The dogs on the sofa watching Paul on TV, aww bet they miss him.”

The tribute also included interview with numerous celebrities who all shared their own memories of Paul.
Former Countdown star, Carol Vorderman, called O'Grady 'a force for good' and 'brilliant as an entertainer'.
Meanwhile, former Labour Party leader Ed Miliband said: “He wasn’t just a fighter for the underdog, somebody who was willing to use his platform to speak up for people who didn’t have a platform, didn’t have a voice, but he could do it in a totally compelling way, much more compelling than any politician.”
