*Warning: Stranger Things spoilers ahead*
Stranger Things fans are just now realising that Vecna's hands are eerily similar to the hands of a clock and it kind of makes sense.
Ever since the first episode of the new Stranger Things season, the terrifying Vecna has had an unsettling association with clocks - particularly a grandfather clock that appears in his victims' visions just hours before they meet their sickening demise.

And with plenty of time to kill (pardon the pun) before the final two episodes of the season drop next month, fans have been getting busy formulating theories and searching for clues as to who Vecna's next victim might be, and how the kids could go about defeating him.
Just weeks before the season finale is set to air, one fan pointed out yet another hidden detail that links Vecna to clocks, and we can't believe we didn't notice this.
Posting a full-body photo of Vecna to Reddit, the fan wrote: "I don’t know if this was intentional or not, but Vecna has a big hand and a small hand, just like a clock."

While Vecna's right hand looks reasonably normal (for a monster from the Upside Down, at least), his left hand is much larger with longer fingers.
"Interesting! I hadn’t noticed that," commented one fan.
"That's an excellent catch, OP," wrote a second.
"I didn’t put together the clock part, that’s a good catch," noted a third.

And a fourth added: "I didn’t even think of it like that! I was thinking his claws were like Freddy Krueger’s glove."
Viewers learned in season four episode seven that Vecna's association with clocks comes from the grandfather clock in his early childhood home - when he went by Henry Creel.
The same grandfather clock has since appeared in all sorts of places, from Hawkins High School to the middle of the woods, acting almost as a warning to Vecna's victims that he's coming for them.

Despite this, many fans think that difference in Vecna's arm size has less to do with clocks and more to do with Dungeons & Dragons.
Since season one, the Stranger Things kids have used D&D characters to make sense of the creatures from the Upside Down.
In fact, Vecna is only known as such because of his resemblance to a D&D character of the same name that the Hellfire Club mention during a game in the first episode of the new season.
Fans have pointed out that one of the key characteristics of Vecna in Dungeons & Dragons is that both his left hand and left eye are incredibly powerful, and can be cut off and used by other players.

Explaining the link, one Stranger Things fan commented: "It’s a reference to the lore of Vecna in Dungeons and Dragons. He uses his left hand for his powers, and in actual DnD, Vecna's left hand is cut off and becomes a powerful magic item. The hand of Vecna is a big deal in DnD and if you look him up he is almost always portrayed with a glowing skeletal left hand."
Could cutting off Vecna's left hand be the key to his defeat? Fans will have to wait until Friday 1 July to find out, when the final two episodes of season four drop.
