WARNING: Spoilers Ahead for Trigger Point

Fans of Trigger Point have landed on a chilling new theory about police-trained mechanic Karl Maguire.

The high-intensity ITV drama series follows bomb disposal operative Lana Washington, played by Vicky McClure, who finds herself pushed to breaking point while struggling to diffuse a number of bombs as part of an orchestrated terrorist attack against London.

You can check out the trailer here:

Trigger Point has been designed with enough twists and turns to keep fans guessing who might be behind the bombings, but viewers think they might already have worked out Karl's story.

Played by Warren Brown, Karl is a mechanic who works on motorbikes and was once on the path to joining the police force himself.

But there's something suspicious about Karl that fans can't seem to shake.

After tuning into this Sunday's episode, one viewer commented: "Anyone else think that Warren Brown's character is sus as in he could be the bomber? Or am i looking [too] much into it?"

Another fan took to Twitter with the exact same theory, writing: "So Karl Maguire is the bad guy yeah? #TriggerPoint."

One viewer concurred: "It’s Karl Maguire. He’s the dodgy geezer."

A third suggested "I don’t trust that Karl guy, I think he may be involved in the explosion in some way."

"Currently suspect no 1: Karl "The Mechanic" = the bomber" penned one fan.

Fans of Trigger Point have been brimming with theories and questions since the series started earlier this month.

One thing viewers have picked up on is Lana’s dangerous style of bomb defusal.

It seems that the closer Lana gets to the bomb, the less protective clothing she’s willing to wear, stripping off her helmet and goggles.

Despite concerns from viewers as they watched Lana take off her helmet in the most high-stakes situations, it turns out there's a method to the madness.

You can read more about that here.

Trigger Point continues on Sunday on ITV at 9pm.
