Typically, at this time of year, a lot of people are suffering from sore or dry lips because of the cold weather, dry air and wind.
And for a lot of people, they will turn to many different types of lip balm to try and ease the soreness.
Obviously, lip balm is supposed to be applied on our lips, but it turns out that many of us could actually be eating it without realising.
When applying the lip balm, we're not exactly thinking about how much of it we are consuming, rather how it is going to help our lips.

Well, this one video that has gone viral on TikTok has certainly changed some people's thoughts on it.
The short video was uploaded to the @kobeesco TikTok account, telling viewers what happens to lip balm once you've applied it.
A caption to the post read: "Make sure the lip balm your using has high quality ingredients!
"Here is a representation of what you could be consuming over a two year span if you use lip balm daily."

By perfectly illustrating eating and drinking on the TikTok, the content creator explained how whether you are drinking a coffee, eating some chips or anything else, you are ingesting lip product.
It was then showed on screen the amount of lip balm you have likely consumed if you use lip balm daily over a two-year period.

And Dr. Mehmet Oz - who happens to be Oprah Winfrey's favourite doctor - has also revealed that the average woman will consume around 3kg of lip products every ten years.
Over 18,000 people have took to the comment section of the TikTok to express their shock and also disgust at how much lip balm we could be ingesting.
