Dua, 26, had been presenting the award alongside Megan Thee Stallion, 27, when the pair recreated Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston's legendary 1998 VMAs moment.
Mariah and Whitney famously suffered a fashion 'faux-pas' on stage when they both wore the 'one of a kind' same brown dress while presenting the award for Best Male Video.
In the iconic stunt, they both tore away the skirts of their dresses, showing their gowns were unique all along.

Recreating the moment, Megan Thee Stallion jokingly called out Dua, telling her: "You stole my look!"
"I was told I had the exclusive. I'm going to have to have a talk with Donatella," said Dua.
Just seconds later, Donatella arrived on stage, and tore away both skirts, revealing different dresses underneath.
"Now we both look like winners!" joked Megan, before she and Dua presented the award for Best New Artist to Olivia Rodrigo.
