Fans are jumping to the defence of Will Smith in the aftermath of Rebel Wilson's controversial joke surrounding his marriage at the 2022 BAFTAs.
The Pitch Perfect actress, who hosted the awards ceremony, made a sly comment at Will's expense after he won Best Actor in a Lead Role for his performance as Richard Williams in biopic King Richard.

Rebel was making reference to the Smiths' open marriage, which they spoke candidly about back in 2020 on Jada Pinkett Smith's Facebook show Red Table Talks.

Since then, both Will and Jada have confirmed that they had engaged in extramarital relationships.
Although Will was not present on the night of the BAFTAs, opting to spend the night at the Critics Choice Awards with Jada where he scooped up yet another award for Best Actor in a Lead Role, the 53-year-old has since set the record straight on his marriage.
Speaking to Gayle King on CBS Sunday Morning, Will clarified that there had "never been infidelity" in his marriage.
He added: "Jada and I talk about everything. We have never surprised one another with anything ever."
