The love triangle between Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie pretty much ruled the entirety of the 2000s.
From Team Aniston merch to ‘Brangelina’ shirts - it’s clear that just about everyone had an opinion on the infamous relationship dynamic.
But, an unearthed Vanity Fair interview from way back in 2005 showed just how the Friends star had felt in the aftermath of the split.

Aniston and Pitt first met in 1994, yet only started officially dating some time later in 1998, with the Fight Club star proposing to her just a year on in 1999.
Just when her role as Rachel Green in Friends was coming to an end in 2004, Aniston told The Guardian that she was ready to enter the next chapter of her life and have a baby with her hubby of nearly four years.
"It's time. It's time. You know, I think you can work with a baby, I think you can work pregnant, I think you can do all of it. So I'm just truly looking forward to slowing down," the Murder Mystery star revealed at the time.

Pitt then started his next filming project, Mr & Mrs Smith, alongside Jolie, and by May of the same year, cheating rumours had begun to fill just about every tabloid out there.
Jolie later revealed that she and Pitt first fell in love on set together, telling Vogue in 2006: "I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened."
Both Pitt and Jolie continuously denied rumours of an affair between them.

And after five years of marriage, the stars announced their separation in January of 2005 in an official statement given to People.
It read: “We would like to announce that after seven years together we have decided to formally separate.
"For those who follow these sorts of things, we would like to explain that our separation is not the result of any of the speculation reported by the tabloid media. This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration."
The pair added that they were to 'happily remain committed and caring friends' with 'great love and admiration for one another'. The statement concluded: "We ask in advance for your kindness and sensitivity in the coming months."

However, the interview Aniston had with Vanity Fair revealed just how torn up she was following the breakdown of their relationship, as she 'burst into tears' upon meeting the interviewer.
The interviewer also noted that Aniston looked like she had been 'stabbed in the heart' when asked about the situation and 'squeezed her eyes shut' in an attempt to stop crying.
When asked if she believed the cheating rumours, Aniston admitted: "I choose to believe my husband. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised by anything, but I would much rather choose to believe him."

"I would be a robot if I said I didn't feel moments of anger, of hurt, of embarrassment," she said, "I just don't know what happened. There's a lot I don't understand, a lot I don't know, and probably never will know, really."
Aniston added: "I have to believe that - otherwise it's just cruel."
However, the actor revealed that, regardless of the heartbreak, she 'felt lucky to have experienced' her marriage to Pitt.
She also admitted that despite everything that took place, she would still hold a place for Pitt in her heart, saying that she would 'love him for the rest of my life'.
Yet another thing to add to the list of reasons why we all love Jennifer Aniston.
