Broadcast journalist Kate Garraway has opened up on social media about her husband's current state of health.
The former Good Morning Britain presenter received an MBE from the Prince of Wales for her work in broadcasting, journalism and charity on Wednesday (28 June).
Garraway's husband, Derek Draper, joined her for the occasion, however, ended up in hospital by the end of the week.

On Sunday, (2 July), Garraway took to her Instagram to speak about her award and also give an update on her husband'shealth.
Garraway reflected on what an 'extraordinary day' she had at Windsor Castle.
"I am so incredibly moved and humbled by the whole experience. So many of you have sent so many lovely messages, including the lady who stopped her car a few minutes ago outside our house to say 'I know what you’re going through, and I know how much that moment meant and I am a nurse'," Garraway's post reads.

She explained that Draper - who's faced problems with his health ever since he contracted coronavirus in 2020 - was in hospital at the start of the week and and had to return by the end of the week, but she noted how 'wonderful' it was to see his 'determination' to come and support her.
Garraway continued: "So kind of the Prince of Wales, to make it special for him & to recognise the work of Jake our incredible carer, who represents all those who make Derek’s daily life possible, and of course my long-suffering, Mum and Dad!
"It was also so humbling to meet all the others, much more deserving than myself, who were there to receive their honours. The Prince of Wales managed to make every single one of them feel as special as they are."

Drape is back in hospital today (Monday, 3 July) and Garraway notes the 'daily struggles go on,' but she will always 'treasure' he was able to 'be part of Wednesday'.
She resolved: "[I] can’t thank everyone in the @NHS and all around him who love him for making it possible. I have so many thanks to give but I must make sure I thank @lisaredmanltd for the loan of my 'fit for a king dress' & @missbsmillinery for its matching hat.!! Love to you all and happy Sunday."
