As you’ve probably noticed, a group of very wealthy people has gathered today in London to see a hat placed on the head of a man - yes, it’s the coronation of King Charles III.
With that in mind, there has been a lot of attention placed onto what people are wearing, whether that be golden coats, untucked white shirts - what was with that? - or bejewelled headgear.

However, among that, there was actually a nice tribute paid through clothing accessories by Kate Middleton to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
Eagle-eyed royalists will have noticed that the 41-year-old Princess of Wales turned up to the event wearing some stuff that paid homage to the late Princess, who died in 1997 after a car crash.
Wearing a Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headpiece, which was fancy AF, as well as an ivory gown, the Princess - Kate, that is - wore a set of Princess Di’s pearl and diamond earrings for the occasion, offering a nod to the mother of her husband, the Prince of Wales, William.

He’s the next up for this sort of show, too.
Once Charles has had his time, it will be William kneeling on the Stone of Destiny and getting presented to Westminster Abbey with much fanfare.
As well as her tribute to Princess Diana, Kate also paid a tribute to her late grandmother in law, who you’ll remember was the Queen for quite a while there.
In homage to her husband’s granny, she wore the George VI Festoon Necklace, which was given to Lizzie as a gift by her father - you’ve guessed it - King George VI.

Much has been made of Kate’s attire at events like this over the years, with many noticing that she is pretty committed to wearing Alexander McQueen’s garments at key moments.
She even chose their creative director Sarah Burton to design her wedding dress.
For today’s look, she had symbols of all four of the countries of the UK embroidered onto her dress.
The thistle, daffodil, shamrock, and rose all featured, but most people have chosen to focus on the earrings, because of the enduring fascination with everything to do with Diana.

They were given to the late Princess of Wales before her wedding to the new king in 1981, and were spotted at a number of events that she attended.
Made by Collingwood, they’ve now been passed down to yet another Princess of Wales.
Diana, as you're no doubt aware, died in a car crash in Paris back in 1997, alongside her partner Dodi Fayed and the driver of the car, Henri Paul.

She was 36-years-old at the time.
A 2008 jury ruled that her death was 'unlawful killing' through reckless driving from Paul and being followed by other cars, reportedly full of paparazzi.
