Kylie Jenner has finally explained the meaning behind her Met Gala look after leaving fans baffled when she stepped out in what looked like a wedding dress.
In earlier Met Gala appearances, Kylie has managed to keep fashion fans happy with her glamorous, on-theme looks. But this year, people were at a loss for words.
Styled by Off-White, the youngest Jenner sister wore a floor-length bridal gown with a mesh white t-shirt, pairing it with a backwards cap and veil.

As soon as her look was revealed, Kylie Jenner's name instantly became a trending topic on Twitter, as fans tried to make sense of the rather bizarre attire, and understand how it fit with this year's gilded glamour dress code.
One disappointed Twitter user wrote: "I want to love this so badly but she just looks uncomfortable and it just isn’t KYLIE JENNER."
A second tweeted: "Taking off my glasses for the night because after seeing kylie jenner’s 2022 met gala look I’ve seen enough".

"Still can’t believe kylie Jenner wore a snap back to the met gala" complained a third.
After the event, Kylie took to Instagram to explain that the look was a tribute to the late fashion designer and Off-White founder Virgil Abloh.

Virgil passed away in November 2021 at just 41 years old after a private two-year battle with cancer.
Sharing photos of her Met Gala look with her 334 million followers, Kylie revealed: "Virgil and I were supposed to go to the Met together before it got postponed in 2020.
"To celebrate V tonight and his incredible legacy truly means the world to me. i’m humbled to wear this dress and honour my talented beautiful friend.
"We felt you tonight Virgil and love you forever & thank u to the entire @off____white team!!"

While it's true Kylie's dress didn't tie in with this year's gilded glamour theme, Vogue claims that her look instead honoured the American fashion exhibition inside the Met.
They reported: "Abloh, a true trailblazer, was known to subvert many looks with his cheeky logos and streetwear slant. By wearing a wedding gown to the Met - and making it youthful, graphic, and wholly unexpected - Jenner channeled the irreverent spirit that Abloh perfected throughout his career."
We're glad we can finally put an end to the confusion!
