Everyone's been talking about the much anticipated Met Gala and, this year, its theme was "Gilded Glamour."
From Kim Kardashian's ode to none other than Marilyn Monroe to Cara Delevingne's gold body paint look - it's fair to say there's been a lot of range and diversity with the huge array of outfits snapped on the Met Gala's iconic red carpet.
In a series of Instagram posts, Kylie Jenner took to detailing the behind-the-scenes process of her unique outfit choice.

The 24-year-old opted for a ruffled white wedding dress attached to a figure-hugging bodice top, paired with a white short-sleeve t-shirt made out of mesh. The ensemble was teamed with a baseball cap worn backwards and then a white net veil to top it all off.
Wearing all off-white, Jenner posted: "Virgil and I were supposed to go to the Met together before it got postponed in 2020. To celebrate V tonight and his incredible legacy truly means the world to me. I’m humbled to wear this dress and honor my talented beautiful friend. We felt you tonight Virgil and love you forever."

While some commended the bold fashion statement, others weren't so keen on the contrast of aesthetics.
One Instagram user commented: "You don’t know if you want to go to a wedding or a basketball game..."
"Throw the hat away," advised another who also didn't approve of the hat and dress combo.
A third added: "I love you Kylie but this outfit...for God's sake!"

Whether the bridal vibes are your thing, it's fair to say that the pairing of both a retro-style wedding dress and a snapback cap is pretty bold.
Some are dubbing the look a confident statement while others are referring to the ensemble as something more similar to "Bridezilla" - but it definitely takes some guts and a very specific creative vision to confidently put together an outfit with two such contrasting elements.
It's definitely not your typical go-to gown - that's for sure.
