Little Mix fans are just discovering that the band had a totally different name when it was first formed over 10 years ago.
When Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and former member Jesy Nelson first created the girl group on the X Factor, long-standing fans will remember that the girls changed their name during the competition.
Speaking about what happened during a show following the band's recent Confetti tour, Jade explained that it was actually her now-boyfriend, Rizzle Kicks' Jordan Stephens who was responsible for the change.

So, what were they originally called? Rhythmix. And Jade has revealed the true story behind the discreet name change.
After a fan shouted "Rhythmix" during the recent show, Jade responded: “Shout out to my boyfriend who made us actually change our name in 2011. It was his fault, yeah!”
Problems with the name Rhythmix arose when a Brighton-based charity, also called Rhythmix, requested the show change the group's name.

At the time, an X Factor spokesperson said: "At the request of the charity Rhythmix, the members of the girl group Rhythmix have decided to change their name, a decision which has the support of Syco and TalkbackTHAMES.
"The group's new name will be announced in due course".
Years later, Jade and Jordan started dating after Jade 'slid into his DMs' in 2020. The loved-up couple seem to be going from strength to strength, with Jordan gushing about Jade on the Cuddle Club podcast with Lou Sanders.

He said: “My girlfriend has got three different kinds of smiles and there’s this one where, I don’t know how to explain it, you can just tell it’s a pure reflection of how she’s feeling in that moment.
“When we are both mucking about and she just busts out this smile, I think, ‘Oh my God’. I just feel full of joy.”
Little Mix are now on hiatus following the emotional final show. Speaking about their break, Jade said: "We love each other so much. We are sisters. We are family.

"It is very bittersweet but it is the best time to do this because we are stronger than ever.
"We are happier than ever. And we're already counting down to the reunion, so don't worry about it!"
