Following accusations that Kim Kardashian had damaged Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress by wearing it to the Met Gala, footage has re-emerged showing that the dress was already damaged before the beauty mogul wore it.
Take a look below:
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was given permission to wear Monroe's 'Happy Birthday Mr President' dress by Ripley's Believe It or Not!, which bought the dress for $4.8 million (£3.9 million) in 2016.

Since then, The Marilyn Monroe Collection alleged that Kim damaged the dress, sharing a series of snaps to Instagram.
Speaking of the damage, they said: "Just in case you missed it… Missing crystals, and some left hanging by a thread."
In an earlier post, the account also questioned Ripley's 'was it worth it?'
Another post included a longer statement, which read: "To anyone who may be questioning the actual condition of Marilyn Monroe’s “Happy Birthday Mr. President” dress prior to being purchased by @ripleysbelieveitornot or implying that low quality photos of the dress were shared to somehow make the newly discovered damage to the dress seem worse than it actually is."

Now, footage has re-emerged showing the dress missing crystals and having slight tearing before Kim took it to the Met Gala.
Users on TikTok have rushed to Kim's defence, with @gaymanwithaspraytan saying in a viral video: "Everyone is talking about Kim Kardashian damaging Marilyn Monroe's dress after she wore it to the Met Gala but thank you to Kay Marie [a fellow TikToker] because the damage was there before she even put the dress on."
Kay Marie had taken screenshots of the damage to the dress which was there before Kim wore it.

Sharing a clip of the dress, the TikToker said: "This is footage of the dress that Ripley's shared before Kim went to go visit."
The picture, which is shown above, shows the condition of the dress before Kim slipped into it.
"The rhinestones are missing, the clamps are all messed up."
Hilariously, the content creator went on to say: "Whoever did this and tried to blame Kim, you will be hearing from my lawyer and my lawyer is Kim."
