Former Neighbours’ star Kate Keltie has said her stage four cancer has ‘completely gone’ following treatment.
Kate, who played Michelle Scully on the Aussie soap from 1999 to 2003, shared that she had been diagnosed with an ‘extremely aggressive’ stage four breast cancer last year.
A GoFundMe page set up by Kate’s cousin to raise cash for treatment said that the disease had ‘spread to other parts of her body, including her lymph nodes, blood and hip bones’.

The page read: “This week, the fight of her life begins as she starts chemotherapy. Given the severity of the chemotherapy that Kate requires, her oncologist advised that working and maintaining her job during this time is not an option.”
After sharing the devastating diagnosis donations began to pour in, and Kate’s GoFundMe hit $37,000. Amongst those who donated was her on-screen sister Holly Candy, who played Flick Scully in the show.
In an update on the GoFundMe page earlier this year, Kate revealed that she was now ‘cancer-free’.

In the post, she wrote: “I want to share some incredible news. I recently received results of my latest scan and was told that there had been a complete metabolic response to diseased areas... In other words, it seems I am cancer-free.
“The last six months have been the most challenging time I have ever experienced to say the least. The diagnosis completely turned my world upside down and it's something I hope to never go through again.”
She added: “The nature of my cancer having travelled through the bloodstream, means that I will receive monthly infusions indefinitely, with no side effects. Surgery is also off the table at this point. Life begins again.”

Kate also thanked the team at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne.
The GoFundMe, which originally had a goal of $25,000, has since been removed and a spokesperson from the fundraising platform confirmed to the Daily Mail the money had gone to Kate.
Kate’s uncle, Michael Keltie - whose daughter Ebony Gilbert set up the fundraiser - confirmed the good news to the Daily Mail, saying: “All I know is that she qualified for a particular type of treatment and had it.
'When she went back with her mother and father, the doctor said, ‘It's gone - it's completely gone.’

“They didn't know what they were hearing when they were told. They said, ‘What do you mean, it's gone?’ He said, ‘It's completely gone.’
“So that is a really positive story what happened with Kate.”
