Olly Murs has responded to the criticism of his latest song and claims it's not about his fiancée.
The singer was slammed for his new single 'I Hate You When You're Drunk' with people branding the lyrics as 'cruel' and 'disgusting'.
The former X-Factor contestant has now addressed the backlash on BBC Breakfast. Watch his response below:
For those unaware, the lyrics people aren't happy with are: "Oh you're slurring all your words / There's makeup on your shirt /You're dancing on the tables can't you see / That you look like a mess and you're singing Whitney whoa / Oh I hate you, hate you, I hate you, hate you when you're drunk."

The second verse follows with: "Oh you got them drunken eyes / Should we call it a night / Cos you've been telling stories 4/5 times / Yeah I've heard it before and my ears are bleeding whoa."
With the third verse adding: "Because you wanna buy champagne / And you wanna throw the shots back / And now you're taking photographs / Why am I the only one that don’t laugh / Oh I hate you, hate you, I hate you, hate you when you're drunk / So quit acting like a fool cos I hate you when you're drunk."
He then sings: "Oh when the morning comes you'll blame it on me / And when you ask for a hug I got no sympathy / Because I hate you when you're drunk."

Murs has now responded to the criticism and claims the lyrics are not about Amelia Tank.
He said: "I mean, it’s obviously upsetting to think that people took it that way because it was not that intention.
"It was a song that I really related to in the studio. It was a song that was written eight years ago.
"At the start of January, I had a New Year’s resolution I wouldn’t drink for a year. And so I’ve been out and my friends, my family, different people [and I was like] “Oh my god, I hate you when you’re drunk.

"So when we wrote the song, it was never about Amelia [Tank] or anyone.
"It was just a song that we really related with at that time."
Murs added: "So for people to take it that way. I was really upset by it. I can’t believe people have taken it that way, which is a shame as I think the song it really great.

"You understand the type of artist I am- It was just more in a cheeky, fun way. And if there was anyone that I would thought would get offended by it would probably be Amelia, if she thought it was about her, but it actually wasn’t.
"But, hey, we move on."
The singer's fiancee has also defended him over the backlash.
