Roman Kemp has accidentally sparked a serious debate online after asking his followers how often they wash their towels.
It's one of those questions like 'how many nights in a row do you re-wear pyjamas?' or 'do you wash your legs in the shower?' that has people overthinking their hygiene - especially after reading some of the replies.
The Capital FM presenter took to Twitter to find out where his cleaning habits stood, writing: "Genuine adult question… How often can you reuse a towel?"

It wasn't long before the replies started rolling in - and there was a very vast range of answers.
Love Island star Chris Hughes shared that he typically tends to wait 'at least' a full week before throwing his towel to the wash.
He wrote: "A week at least.. you’re clean by the time you use it. Just clean water being dried out and ready to use again."

The logic is there, to be fair. And Chris isn't the only one living by this theory.
Another follower agreed: "Well, I mean isn't the towel drying off a clean body/hands etc... so is it actually getting dirty at all?"
If you're someone who considers themselves uber hygienic and that answer freaks you out, you'll be devastated to know there were some far more concerning replies.
One user claimed that they use the same towel 'until it starts to smell'.

Taking it a step further, a second wrote: "Until it stands up by itself. Then it's time for the washing machine."
*Shudder*
Most people wrote back that they were washing their bath towels after two to four showers.

For example, Hollyoaks star Jessica Fox commented: "Depends how you hang it up to dry. But three to four uses in my opinion."
But, on the total opposite side of the spectrum, some followers claimed that they were washing their towels after every single shower.
"Change daily man," read one tweet, "You don’t wanna be drying your face with the same towel you’ve dried your a** with lol."

Another added: "I use a clean towel every time I have a bath or shower, same for my kids. Downstairs bathroom towel gets washed three times a week."
Does that seem super intense, or am I just not washing my towels enough?
And who on earth has the time or money to wash their bath towels every single day?
I'm about to overthink this one for the next week, cheers Roman!
