In news that is sure to melt your heart, Canadian Olympic diver Jennifer Abel is now engaged to her long term partner, professional boxer David Lemieux.
As Abel arrived at Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau airport on Monday (2nd August), Lemieux greeted her.
He then got down on one knee and presented her with a ring.

The adorable footage was posted to the official Team Canada Twitter account, which shows Abel in complete shock with her hands covering face as she nods "yes."

Abel took to Instagram to confirm their engagement. She paired a picture with the caption: "I said YES to my soulmate."

Lemieux shared the same sweet picture of the newly engaged couple on his own Instagram page, writing: "Proud to call you my woman, what better way to seal the deal then with a [ring emoji]"
Abel won a silver medal in the women's three-metre synchronised springboard event.
Lemieux’s management company Eye of the Tiger Management (EOTTM) posted about the couple’s engagement on Facebook as well as comments from Lemieux about how he planned the romantic gesture.

He said: “It was important to me that she complete her Olympic mission before [I] made the big request.
I am extremely proud of her and everything she has accomplished despite the complications for all the athletes generated by this global pandemic.”
Lemieux added he is happy to “take another milestone with her” following her win at the Tokyo Olympics.
