Tom Daley has welcomed his second child with his husband, Dustin Lance Black.
The Olympian has taken fans by surprise by announcing the arrival of his second son, named Phoenix Rose, on March 28, despite not revealing that they were expecting beforehand.
Whilst most parents would usually welcome their little one with a post on social media, the dads decided to use a much more old-fashioned way to commemorate the moment.

The happy news broke in the 5 April edition of The Times, with the couple opting for a traditional birth announcement in the newspaper.
In the short reveal, it simply read: “Black-Daley on 28th March to Thomas Robert Daley and Dustin Lance Black, a son, Phoenix Rose.”
In 2018, the couple welcomed their first child, Robert Ray, via a surrogate birth – just a year after the couple tied the knot.

Daley has previously spoken about their decision to use a surrogate in a previous interview with Giovanna Fletcher on her Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast.
The 28-year-old diver told Fletcher that it was a way for the couple to continue their family line, after having lost several loved ones.
In fact, their first child was named after Daley’s late father, Robert, who passed away in 2011.

The diver told the podcaster: “Lance and I […] had lost so many people in our families and there was something about surrogacy that we were drawn to that just meant that we could pass on the people that we'd lost, their genes and their thoughts, their feelings, their personalities and being able to bring someone into the world, that felt so extremely special.”
He also said that he and Black were eager to give little Robert a sibling.
The couple also opted to go through the fertility treatment in the US as they received better legal rights overseas.

Daley said at the time: “We looked into it in the UK and in the US.
"In the UK it's a lot more complicated because surrogates aren't as well protected legally, intended parents aren't protected legally, it's just not safe, there's a lot of hurdles to have to jump over.”
He added: “In the US, everything is regulated in a way that keeps everyone safe and in the US the surrogacy process is a lot more streamlined.”
We are so glad that they finally got to welcome another little bundle of joy to their family and we can’t to see baby photos!
