During her first television interview in over a decade, Angelina Jolie inadvertently left viewers heartbroken following a tragic confession about her daughter, Shiloh.
Asked by US talk-show presenter Jimmy Fallon about the career plans of the six children she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt, the Wanted actress became emotional.

In the last 10 years, 49-year-old Jolie has swapped life in front of a camera for life behind the scenes.
Despite a vast plethora of movie roles under the belt, in 2011, she made her directorial debut with war-drama The Land Of Blood and Money, bagging a Golden Globe nominee.
The years that followed saw the star direct a total of seven films - including humanitarian blockbusters Unbroken (2014), First They Killed My Father (2017), and Without Blood (2024) - and more recently, she won a Tony Award for producing musical The Outsiders.
Naturally, a life behind the camera has afforded Jolie some form of privacy, despite the actress having divorced her Mrs And Mrs Smith co-star husband Brad Pitt in the midst of the transition.

It isn't just the mother-of-six who has seemingly preferred her new, more private lifr, however, with Jolie revealing this week that her daughter Shiloh - she and Pitt's third eldest child - is desperate to remain out of the spotlight.
According to her mother, Shiloh, 18 - who hit headlines earlier this year after dropping 'Pitt' from her full title following the A-list split - doesn't like public attention and wishes to maintain a somewhat private lifestyle.
During an appearance on Tonight With Jimmy Fallon on Thursday (5 Dec), the Changeling actress was asked whether she could see any of her six children following in her footsteps.
"My kids - I think some of them off-camera, like behind the scenes," she awkwardly began, seemingly thrown off by the question.

"But they really, really want to be - especially Shiloh - would really like to be private. Just private, like, not photographed, not on the thing."
Discussing Shiloh's wish, the mother-of-six added: "Her, most of all, would like privacy."
Then, after presenter Jimmy pointed out, 'It must get tricky, with everyone being so famous', Jolie laughed before responding, 'But it wasn't their choice.'
She went on to jibe at the host: "So, some people are more comfortable with the public, some people are most comfortable on talk-shows, and some people are not."
Later in the interview, during a segment where the pair bust rumours about what the movie star would have done professionally if not acting, not only did she reveal that she herself is a licensed pilot, but she revealed that two of her sons are currently in training for the same thing.

"Maddox is in training to be a pilot now, too," she continued. "He's actually - he is a pilot now."
Maddox is Jolie and Pitt's eldest (and first adoptive) child at 23, followed by adoptive son Pax, 21, adoptive daughter Zahara, 19, and 18-year-old biological daughter Shiloh, and biological twins Knox and Vivienne, both 16.
