Angelina Jolie and her ex-husband Brad Pitt will not cross paths at the Venice Film Festival, the events artistic director has claimed.
Two years after tying the knot in the southeast of France, Angelina, 49, filed for divorce from Brad, 60, in 2016.
Despite being declared legally single by a judge in 2019, the pair are still embroiled in a lengthy legal battle and their divorce is yet to be finalised.

Despite their tumultuous personal lives, both parties confirmed their attendance at the prestigious Venice Film Festival.
This year, the annual cinematic celebration has the honour of premiering Luca Guadagnino’s Queer, Todd Phillip's Joker: Folie À Deux starring Lady Gaga and Halina Reijin's upcoming erotic thriller, Babygirl.
Jon Watts’ Wolfs, starring George Clooney, Brad and Amy Ryan, is also due to make its debut while Angelina’s first film since 2021’s Eternals has already been showcased.

The biopic sees the Tomb Raider star stepping into the role of titular character and late opera diva Maria Callas during her final days in 1977s Paris.
With both Mr. & Mrs. Smith actors on the roster, Venice’s artistic director Alberto Barbera was quizzed on how he would keep the estranged pair apart.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, he confirmed that Angelina wouldn’t be sticking around long enough in the Floating City to come face-to-face with her former spouse.

“Angelina will be on the first day, on Thursday 29, and she will leave right after with Pablo Larraín to go to Telluride [Film Festival],” Barbera explained.
“Brad will arrive only on Saturday, to Venice.”
He further added that there was 'no way that they can cross each other at the Lido'.

The Telluride Film Festival [TFF] has confirmed that Netflix pickup Maria will make its US debut at the event, with Angelina expected to be in attendance.
Following the event, taking place between August 30 and September 2, the Maleficent actress’ latest project will have its New York debut at the 62nd New York Film Festival (NYFF).
NYFF will premiere Maria alongside Roberto Minervini’s The Damned and The Room Next Door, starring Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton.
Meanwhile, Wolfs is scheduled to premiere at Venice on Sunday, September 1, before receiving a limited theatrical release in the United States on September 20.

Fans of George and Brad—who play two professional fixers—will then be able to watch the movie from the comfort of their own home from September 27 on Apple TV+.
