One of the most widely-respected yet unspoken woman-to-woman rules is that you absolutely do not bring up somebody else's weight.
If the other person initiates the conversation, fine. You might have a little bit of leeway for an open discussion.
But otherwise, it's best to not say anything because you never know what mental or physical health woes the other person could be battling behind the scenes.

However, much-loved Funny Girl actor Barbra Streisand has today found herself in hot water with her colossal fan-base, after allegedly making a rather savage remark about another Hollywood star's weight.
Taking to Instagram last night, comedian and Bridesmaids bombshell Melissa McCarthy shared a glamorous snap showing her walking arm-in-arm with film director pal Adam Shankman in Los Angeles on Sunday at CTG's The Gala 2024.
In the snap, 53-year-old Melissa - who has always been open about her fluctuating weight throughout her time in the spotlight - could be seen donning a plush mint gown, which she paired with a matching blazer and iconic go-go boots.

While hundreds of fans flooded the comments with compliments, gushing over the star's glowing new look, 82-year-old singer Barbra allegedly took a different approach, which has sparked huge controversy amid her's and Melissa's fan base.
"Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?" she penned in a since-deleted comment.
For those unfamiliar with the hotly-debated new 'weight loss hack', Ozempic is actually a series of injections aimed to treat those suffering from Type 2 diabetes.

In recent months, however, countless celebrities have opened up about their use of the medication for weight loss - including actor Rebel Wilson and TV stars Oprah and Sharon Osbourne.
Despite the drug often setting tongues wagging, Barbra's rather blunt question directed at Melissa has landed her in social media user's bad-books.
"What happened to not taking about Bodies! As a mother of a daughter that’s not ok we as women need to not focus on appearance," one hit out.
Another went on: "I’m so totally taken aback that you could ask her that on Social Media for all to see? I love and adore you, truly, but that disappointed me".

A third continued: "Whether she did or did not is no one else’s business".
Tyla contacted Barbra's representatives for comment.
