One Tree Hill's Bethany Joy Lenz details 'sex schedule' after marrying 'cult leader's' son

One Tree Hill's Bethany Joy Lenz details 'sex schedule' after marrying 'cult leader's' son

Actress Bethany Joy Lenz was embroiled in a cult alongside her husband 'QB' for a decade

When actress Bethany Joy Lenz revealed last year that she'd secretly married a mystery man - who also happened to be the son of a cult leader - concern was sparked amongst her long-term fan-base.

Now, in a bombshell interview, she recalls the 'sex schedule' she was prescribed as part of her controversial relationship, during which she says she bore a daughter before escaping from the eerie religious group.

It wasn't until an appearance on the podcast series Drama Queens in August last year that TV star Lenz, now 43, revealed that she'd been part of a rogue, cultish group called the Big House Family organisation for an entire decade whilst appearing as a regular on One Tree Hill.

Though she opted not to disclose the names of any of its members, or the ins and outs of their riche belief system, she shocked listeners when she revealed that she'd fallen in love with the son of the group's leader, of whom she only referred to as 'QB'.

Only now, however, has she lifted the lid on the realities of her now-ended romance, during which she and 'QB' welcomed a little girl.

Appearing on the popular Call Her Daddy podcast, the American actress told listeners about the turbulent sex life she endured whilst living communally with her husband.

"It's kind of amazing that I didn't have sex until I was married," she went on to reveal. "It felt like this promise that I had been given as a good evangelical was a big crock."

The mother-of-two - who also welcomed a daughter with ex husband musician Michael Galeotti, to whom she was married between 2005-2012 - went on to confess: "I thought if I save myself for marriage, then the promise is amazing sex and super deep intimacy, and nothing's ever as good.

"And then we have sex, and it's like, 'Why do I feel so sad? I don't feel more connected to you. I feel farther away from you'.

"And I don't think that necessarily had anything to do with saving myself for marriage. It was just that I married the wrong person."

She went on to tell host Alex Cooper that her newness to sex at that time often put her off the physical act, after which a 'sex schedule' was set up for her in order to tackle the intimacy issues she faced, as well as her busy filming routine.

"Because I was so disinterested in sex, I was then asked to go on a schedule," she revealed.

"Basically of like, 'You just have to do it. Just do it. This is your duty. This is your job as a wife. Your emotions will fall in line. If you do it enough, then eventually, you will find a way to enjoy it.'"

Lenz confessed to going along with the dubious sex schedule 'in order to keep the peace in my marriage', but claimed it left her suffering with anxiety.

"My stomach dropped every single time," she said, recalling having to continue with the routine every time she picked up her mysterious husband from international flights.

"In fact, it really affected my relationships afterwards—like, other boyfriends when I had to go pick them up from the airport.

"I had so much PTSD from showing up at the airport to see him knowing that I was gonna have to start this sex schedule for the next, like, two weeks or three weeks or whatever."
