Brooke Shields has admitted she finds sexual intercourse ‘painful’ after a male doctor gave her a ‘little bonus’ during labia surgery.
Multi-hyphenate Shields, 59, has done it all. From Broadway credits and posing for Calvin Klein, to being the youngest model to appear on the cover of Vogue and is now the author of a brand-new book discussing women’s experience with healthcare.
The Blue Lagoon star’s new non-fiction guide, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman, sees the mother-of-two rewriting the narrative that women should be seen and not heard.
Instead, she’s trying to spark a ‘new conversation about the power and promise of midlife’ by exploring inspiring anecdotes and being honest with her readers.

The 256-page book was published today (14 January) in the UK, featuring the author’s frank opinion on sex and how her relationship has changed with it as she has gotten older.
People reports that in chapter 10, the actor wrote: “I had a fervent sex drive when I was young, but I never felt like I could step into that appetite in the way that I wanted to.”
Recalling how she lost her virginity to her college boyfriend when she was 22, Shields continued: “I waited that long because I had the weight of the world on me. And even once we started sleeping together, I never really let loose.
“Oh, how I wish I’d just let the lust take over!”

But things have changed more than 35 years later. Shields has admitted that she sometimes pretends to be asleep to avoid being intimate with her husband Chris Henchy, 60.
“And that has nothing to do with Chris - he’s hot,” she remarked.
“I’m going through all the bodily s**t that comes with aging as a woman even in the best of times - the thinning hair and the peach fuzz and the brand-new belly fat and vaginal dryness and the diminishing sex drive - and in my natural state I feel less appealing to him than I ever did before.”

However, Shields also uses her book to confess that she’s in a place where ‘sex can be painful’.
She claimed the pain is due to a male doctor - who she refers to as ‘Dr. Malpractice’ - performing a ‘little bonus’ during a previous labiaplasty surgery.
A labiaplasty is a surgical procedure to either reshape or reduce the size of the labia, or vaginal lips. This procedure can be performed for cosmetic reasons, to reduce discomfort or as part of gender-affirming surgery.
However, she claims the Beverly Hills medic who performed the task ‘proudly’ informed her he’d added ‘a little twofer’, in the form of a vaginal rejuvenation.

Vaginal rejuvenation is an intense procedure that sees female genital tissues surrounding the vagina tightened, reshaped, or reduced entirely.
The New York-born star has described the vaginal rejuvenation as an ‘irreversible invasion’, comparing it to a ‘rape of some kind’.
Following the surgery, Shields said that for her to enjoy sex she needs her ‘lotions and potions’, the right sleepwear, a particular pillow and a shot of tequila to ‘relax’.

She added that her doctor has advised her to ‘start taking testosterone’, adding: “For now, I’m counting on the old ‘the more you have it, the more you’ll enjoy it’ approach.”
