The iconic Tony Awards took place last night (16 June), and while many are admiring the glitzy gowns, others have been paying more attention to Brooke Shields' footwear.
While it's long been considered a given that A-list actors will don their favourite pair of heels, most probably by a legendary fashion designer, Brooke turned up in flats.
Not only that, but those flats were Crocs - the kind of shoe most people reserve for wearing at home away from public view.

The 59-year-old star is at the centre of a groundbreaking documentary released last year, Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields, which explores the way Brooke was sexualised by the media from a very young age, and follows her journey of attempting to get her power back.
Brooke gained infamy as a child actor and is the winner of five People's Choice Awards.
But the latest thing that has people talking about Brooke is her controversial shoe choice at the Tony's.

It turns out there's a good reason for the footwear - and she isn't simply just trying to make Crocs happen.
Brooke donned a beautiful yellow gown with a pair of yellow Crocs to match.
Famed for her statement brows, they made a stunning appearance too.
Brooke opened up to People at the award ceremony: "I got my Crocs! I couldn't do this in heels!"

It turns out Brooke's appearance in the affordable, notably very comfortable, shoe is down to a medical issue.
On 15 June, Brooke took to Instagram to share that she's been in the hospital.
She wrote: "The feet pics are about to level up… Double foot toe surgery."

She posted a photo which showed her two feet in some heavy duty braces.
Alongside her problematic feet, Brooke also opened up to People about her desire to return to Broadway, after making several appearances in productions of iconic titles such as Chicago, Cabaret and Grease.
She said: "Going to Broadway when I was a little, little girl, so to me it's a part of my life."

We'd love to see her back when she's had the opportunity to rest and she can swap the Crocs for another pair of shoes.
Fans fled to her comments to pass on their well wishes.
One person wrote: "Both at the same time... brave lady."
Another said: "Oh wow! Rest rest rest! And hope you feel better sooooon!"
Brooke, who also underwent foot surgery back in 2008, received another comment from Friends star Courteney Cox.
The fellow actor chimed: "Those little guys have been throooouuuugh it!"
