In a celebrity rarity, supermodel Cara Delivigne has this weekend made a shock admission about her former alcohol abuse.
In a brand new interview with The Times, the British star, 31, lifted the lid on her harrowing addiction, and revealed that one particularly scandalous moment gave her the wake-up call she needed to get sober.

The model and actress began her liberating confessional by revealing she'd grown up in an environment surrounded by alcohol, admitting her first time getting 'drunk' was at her aunt's wedding, aged eight.
Despite going on to become one of the most globally-renowned and highly-paid models of the 21st century - launching a successful acting career in the meantime - Cara has now revealed that many of her achievements were tainted by suffering.
Discussing her 'party' years, she explained: "I used to think drugs and alcohol helped me cope, but they didn’t, they kept me sad and super depressed."
That said, however, Cara has now been sober since 2022, telling the publication: "I feel like I’ve got my power back and I’m not being controlled by other things."

When asked what in particular made her realise that her reliance on booze had reached the point of no return, Cara spoke of a particular set of paparazzi photos, which went viral at the time.
In 2022, the blonde beauty attended Burning Man festival with a handful of her celebrity pals.
Following a weekend of festivities, Cara was later papped leaving for Van Nuys airport in Los Angeles, looking rather dishevelled in just her socks, and leaving fans concerned for her wellbeing.

In the weeks that followed, the star was checked into a rehabilitation facility, where it is understood that she underwent a 12-step programme for addiction.
"It was a stupid decision to go straight from a festival to work," she said of the controversial pictures.
"I should have waited a day. But it was going to happen to me anyway, there were plenty of photos out there of me looking wasted."
Cara continued: "Listen, I signed up for this, this is my job, it’s what I do. But without that would I be sober now?"

Talking about her sobriety now, the model went on to insist that she doesn't even find it distressing to surround herself by drinkers.
"I love being around people who are drinking, it doesn’t mess me up," she claimed. "I’ve done more in the past two years than I ever have: Glastonbury, Burning Man and Coachella."
Then, asked about attending Glastonbury sober last week, she added: "It smelt bad, my feet hurt and I didn’t stay up so late, but it was just as much fun. I never want my life to change in that way."
