I'm no actor, but I imagine there's nothing that even the biggest names in entertainment dread more than realising their latest project features a sex scene.
I mean, maybe I'm wrong, and there's nothing that actors find more thrilling than getting their kit off, all in the name of cinema.
Apparently, however, for actor Chace Crawford, when he received the script for his latest television series, which included him making love to a sea creature, even he was skeptical.

The American actor - best known for his role as noughties heartthrob Nate Archibald in coming-of-age hit Gossip Girl - was cast in Amazon Prime's satirical superhero television series, The Boys, back in 2019.
Based on the comic book franchise of the same name, over the last four seasons and five years, the popular TV show has the followed a group of vigilantes know as - you guessed it - 'The Boys', who combat a batch of villainous super-powered individuals, who have been abusing their powers for personal gain.

Amongst them is Chase's character Kevin Moskowitz - otherwise known as 'The Deep' - who possesses the skill of aquatic telepathy, as well as amphibious physiology.
As a result, apparently, the show sees the actor getting down and dirty with a number of - how do I put this? - creatures of the marine world...
I know, we did warn you it would get weird...

Anyway, in one particular scene from the third series, viewers received the shock of their lives, after observing the much-loved on-screen star making love to an octopus named Ambrosius, who - fun fact - is actually voiced by Oscar-winning actor Tilda Swinton.
And he has since spoken out about what it was like to film the controversial and extremely explicit scene.
"I was in total denial about it," he told Rolling Stone. "And then it got 24 hours out from the first day I had to shoot it and I almost had a panic attack."
Speaking to creator Eric Kripke, he recalls asking "How are we gonna do this? What are the angles gonna be? How naked do I have to be?', before revealing that the series' showrunner 'changed one shot for me - and it was great."

And while many sets have an intimacy coordinator, this wasn't the case for Crawford.
"Not with the octopus," he continued. "They treated it like, ‘quiet everyone, clear out’, a closed set.
"But yeah, just the act of picking up the octopus and getting a wet octopus in the bed was so funny and weird."
